Summer Bucket List

With summer pretty much here I have a lot of things I would like to do with the kids and of course for myself. I just honestly want to relax and enjoy it spending time with family and friends. Here are some fun things I added to my summer bucket list to do this summer and some things you can try with your little ones as well.

Stick to Keto: Its more for me than a bucket list thing. But with summer here there’s more temptation with BBQs and lots of eating but not as much as being home on cold cozy winter nights. I don’t know about you but I binge eat a lot during the winter so I’m hoping this summer and keto eating will work out great since there will be a lot of BBQ’s. At least at BBQ’s it’s a little easier to eat the meat options. I’m loving the keto journey so far, it has helped me with controlling my sugar intake and that’s super important for me since I had gestational diabetes before. I want to make sure I keep it under control for that reason mostly, which is why I love Keto. I understand its not  for everyone, but it has worked wonders for me. I will share more on that another time.

Purge Things: I did zero spring cleaning in spring time. I would however like to get everything sorted, sold or donated in my place by the time summer is over to make space. Not only that, I would like to get rid of clothing I no longer use, handbags I no longer wear and that goes for shoes too. I’m thinking of listing these items online for sale.

Read 3 Books: I have been slacking on my reading as well. I just want to relax and catch up on some new books I’ve been interested in reading lately. Even if it’s poolside, at the park or at home, at least getting some good reads in would be nice.

Little Vacation with the Hubby: Thomas and I haven’t taken a vacation together in a while. I think the last time was in March of 2017. Every vacation we do, we always have the kids which is a given, so we really want to set aside time to do something fun for ourselves this summer.

Visit Lake George / Niagara Falls: I haven’t been to Canada in a long time, I think I was like 10 when I went. I would love to take the kids to see it too. I remember seeing it in amazement when I was younger! So i know my children would love it too, not only that but the weather will be great to walk around and get wet (if you’re on the boat next to the falls). I also would love to visit Lake George upstate on the way up to Canada. It’s so beautiful and I’ve heard  if you’re into fishing it’s a place to visit. Not really going for that but the views are stunning and it looks like such a relaxing place to be.

Watch Netflix / Outdoor Theater, See Movies: More for my personal enjoyment, I want to catch up on my Netflix shows. With social media, I will be the first to admit that I spend way too much time looking at my phone screen. I want to have more quality time catching up on shows/movies on Netflix with the hubster and maybe movie nights with the kids at an outdoor theater, take some fun picnic snacks while we’re at it.

New Amusement Parks: Of course we love amusement parks! Do it pretty much every year and the kids love them. We make it our business to take them as a special treat.

Explore Neighborhoods: So I really want to take advantage of the fact that I live in one of the biggest cities in the USA. I mean I have lived in NYC for years and don’t usually take advantage of the free activities available to do in the summer! This year I want to explore it more with the kiddos. I want to go to local events, restaurants, kid activities they have for the summer in our local neighborhood. You can also see whats going on by your area by checking your local neighborhood news papers or websites and get info on fun free activities to do in your area.

Visit a Farm: Pick strawberries, ride horses, eat corn ….. more towards the end of summer I’d like to take the kids to do some outdoor activities, maybe horse back ride and really get to see the farm life.

That’s pretty much it. I just want to keep it a little simple and enjoy quality time with the kiddos this summer. What’s on your bucket list this summer?
